‘A masterclass in combining character and landscape’
IN CINEMAS & ON DEMAND 5 FEBRUARY
**UK Premiere 1 February at BFI Southbank with Director Grimur Hakonarson in attendance**
On neighbouring farms in rural Iceland two estranged brothers live side by side tending to their prized sheep. Neither have spoken in over forty years. Each as stubborn as the other, Gummi and Kiddi communicate only via letter dutifully carried back and forth by the farm sheep dog. When a lethal disease suddenly threatens to wipe out their beloved rams, in a desperate attempt to save their stock and their livelihood, the brothers are forced to communicate once again. But can their mutual love of their animals instead save their relationship and bring them back together?
Winner of Un Certain Regard at Cannes Film Festival 2015 and Iceland’s official entry for the 2016 Oscars®, RAMS is an endearing story of love, loss and forgiveness set against the backdrop of magnificent Icelandic panoramas. Directed by Grímur Hákonarson.
